Hi, Iā€™m Julie diaz.

Food has always been an important part of my life, though not always the healthiest choices. I grew up in a family where cooking, eating, and large family gatherings were central themes and the food was usually fried, cooked with ham, or super sweet. I watched as my relatives all seemed to get chronic diseases.

As an adult I made the connection that cooking and eating fresh seasonal food made in nourishing ways was the path to a healthy life. And I began teaching others what I learned and watched as their lives have become healthier, too.

A Cooking Revolution

As I started cooking and eating more fresh local food my own health and the health of my family began to improve. I created many simple delicious meals that were full of nutritious ingredients. I began encouraging others by sharing my recipes and food.

CLarksdale cooks

Upon moving to Clarksdale, Mississippi at the end of 2021, making connections with the farmers and the food that is grown here became a priority for me. Sharing my many years of cooking flavorful plant-centered meals with the local fresh produce is my mission.
